Tryon filmfest to screen Iran’s ‘Weekend’

The Tryon International Film Festival (TRIFF) in the US is set to host Iranian short film ‘Weekend’.

The 6th edition of the American film event has completed its competition lineup with Ario Motevaqe’s short flick.

‘Weekend’ narrates the story of two families who go camping in a park during the weekend. Although it seems they are there to spend the end of the week holiday, it will turn out that they have an ulterior motive.

Fardin Qaderi, Mostafa Latifikhah, Sahar Taherkhani, Maliheh Esfandiyari and Bardiya Shariati are the cast members of the short.

The film has already been showcased at a number of global events and won honors, including the Merits award of the IndieFEST Film Festival in the Us and the audience and jury awards of the Philosophical Film Festival in Macedonia.

The upcoming edition of the TRIFF will be held online over the coronavirus pandemic on October 9-11.
